At Tyne Tunes, we believe music should be accessible, engaging, and meaningful for everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability. Our Community Music sessions are designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and connection through inclusive music-making experiences across schools, local organisations, and community settings.

Whether it’s delivering a music workshop at a primary school, leading an intergenerational community group, or supporting youth services, we tailor each session to meet the needs and abilities of the group.

Interactive Music-Making for All Ages

Join us for a fun, inclusive, and hands-on Boomwhacker and Ukulele Workshop, designed to bring communities together through the joy of music — no experience needed! These workshops are ideal for all ages and abilities, offering a creative and accessible introduction to rhythm, melody, and group performance. Participants will explore music in a relaxed, encouraging environment using two fantastic and easy-to-learn instruments:

🎶 Boom whackers

Boomwhackers are colourful, tuned percussion tubes that make music come alive in an energetic and visual way. We'll explore rhythm games, call-and-response patterns, and group compositions that get everyone involved — perfect for families, children, and adults alike.

🎸 Ukulele

With just four strings and a friendly learning curve, the ukulele is a brilliant instrument for beginners. Participants will learn simple chords, strumming techniques, and even play along to familiar songs by the end of the session.

What to Expect:

• Instruments provided for all participants

• Led by an experienced music educator and performer with over 20 years of experience

All sessions are delivered by a DBS-checked music educator with experience in school and community settings.
